Colorado boasts a long and extensive Blues Festival season. Once the Greeley Blues Jam kicks off the season, rarely does a weekend go by without some great outdoor blues. There are a great number of major festivals with impressive lineups of national acts as well as smaller ‘community’ festivals featuring some of the finest local bluesmen and women. For breathtaking mountain views catch Blues From the Top in Winter Park and the Telluride Blues & Brews.
While there is no major festival in downtown Denver, you can feel the blues spirit of Denver via the Mile High Blues Festival, Summerfest and Arvada Blues & BBQ. If you crave a sense of the smaller local blues communities then check out Empire and the Trinidaddio. Regardless of the festival they all share some common traits; great weather, awesome Colorado scenery, great food and drink, all woven together with the finest blues in the land.
And when attending these festivals be sure to look for the Colorado Blues Society tent. We have a merchandise booth at most festivals where you can purchase CBS clothing, hats and CDs, as well as buy and renew memberships. Stop by and see us!
